Speaking Our Truth in Loving, Brave, and Generous Ways -- By Sharon Burch
Sometimes we let other people diminish what's important to us. We let what "they" say and think about us - their disapproval and discouraging words - keep us from who we're meant to be and what we're meant to do.
But the truth is, each of us is pure potential, and we're destined to make a contribution. Yes, when criticism comes from people we love, it hurts. But what ultimately hurts us more is living timidly to avoid "feedback".
What matters the most is when we contemplate:
Did I do my best?
Did I share my abilities with the world?
Did I choose what's right over what's scary?
Am I really living?
Am I making my life count?
If you answer yes to one or more of these, there's a good chance some people won't like it. And that's okay. We all can handle a little discomfort. Your life and passion are bigger than that.
