Five Ways to Boost Your Confidence -- By Sharon Burch, ARPN
When your self-esteem drops or has been low for a while, it can be hard to imagine feeling confident. It might feel far away and unattainable, but growing one’s confidence is possible and less scary than you might believe. Here are five recommended steps you can take.
Give yourself some slack. You’re probably doing better than you think. If you knew others’ inner experiences, you’d see that the cocky people and the strutting fashionistas also experience self-doubt behind their bravado.
Remember that we’re all humans. People are not robots and no one is perfect or has it all together.
Speak to your friends and family about times in their lives when they felt like they had low confidence. You’ll discover that you're not alone in this human experience.
Read books or watch videos that tell the stories of people who grew their confidence.
Bonus: Practicing confidence-building steps will boost your energy and motivation!
So, the next time you find yourself freaking out about a new challenge and needing a self-confidence boost, remember that confident people are not born; they’re grown.
